This Orange Creamsicle cocktail is a delicious summer drink, balanced between hints of vanilla-orange with a touch of alcohol. If you want to treat yourself to a delicious dessert without overwhelming sweet notes, this just might become a new favorite of yours.

In reviewing other variations around the web, many seemed too sweet or had too many low-quality ingredients. I wanted to make a version that you could taste the alcohol on – otherwise the cocktail gets too dangerous very quickly. I also wanted to use handmade whipped cream to bring in extra flavor nuances, as well as keep this Orange Creamsicle variation from being too sweet.

Orange Whipped Cream

Recipe Tip
The orange zest will be really sticky and clump when you first grate the orange peel. Lay it out and let the zest dry a little and it will sprinkle much easier. You can see the difference in some of these photos of which zest dried vs which I sprinkled on immediately.

Same recipe, but with different glasses and an extra cherry garnish for an evening shot photo.
