Looking after your health partly means paying attention to what is going on inside yourself at any time, and ensuring that you are doing all you can to try and deal with it as soon as possible. As it happens, part of this is always going to be a case of watching for some common symptoms that a lot of people have, but which can indicate something more serious some of the time. Let’s take a look now at some examples of those kinds of symptoms and see why you might want to watch out for them in particular.

Unexplained Weight Loss
Weight loss is generally not something that happens without you knowing why – either you have purposefully been dieting or exercising, or you know that you are on some medication that might cause it. So if you are losing weight without knowing why, that can actually be a worrying sign and something to watch out for. It could be a sign of a variety of underlying conditions, from diabetes to various kinds of cancer. You should get it checked out, especially if it is quite sudden or drastic and you don’t know why it is happening.
Persistent Fatigue
If you feel tired all the time, it could be down to a number of things. The first thing to check is your lifestyle, of course – are you sleeping well enough, and are you eating the right foods? If you can answer yes to both of these, but you are still feeling tired all the time, then something might be wrong. It could be depression, or it could be a chronic physical condition like fibromyalgia. Either way, it’s something to take to the doctor, as it is definitely a concern you don’t want to ignore.
Vertigo
This can be like a feeling of the room spinning around you, and it can be incredibly unsettling when it happens especially for the first time. If you are experiencing vertigo, it could be due to a huge number of things, from inner ear problems to a benign brain tumour. So it’s clearly really important to check it out, and in fact in terms of how to cure vertigo permanently usually this will require figuring out what the underlying cause is – because vertigo is a symptom rather than a condition in itself.

Shortness Of Breath
If you find yourself gasping for air after just a minimal amount of activity, then it could be a sign of an underlying issue, such as heart disease or a lung infection. It may also be nothing, but the point is that you should make sure you are doing something about it and getting it checked out, as otherwise you might find that you are not going to be taking proper care of yourself. All in all, it’s important that you are watching out for this kind of thing and doing all you can to get the help you might need when you need it.
