Iconic buildings, a rich history, and a great skyline mean Atlanta has always been a top spot for Hollywood filming. Some of the city’s best-known locations are most familiar from today’s biggest films, and plenty of tourists want to see those spots in person.

If this is the reason you’re booking flights to the world’s busiest airport and looking for top hotels in Atlanta, you won’t be disappointed. There are plenty of recognizable film locations across the city, and you don’t even need to be a film buff to spot them.
The Walking Dead Bridge
The list starts here: the iconic Walking Dead Bridge, otherwise known as the Jackson Street Bridge. Famed for its appearance in the first scene of the first episode of The Walking Dead, when Rick rides into the city on horseback, Jackson Street Bridge is a swing bridge that delivers some of the most striking Downtown views in Atlanta.
Visitors head here in droves for selfies, engagement photos, and more. Free parking is available on the bridge or on nearby side streets. This roadside spot isn’t exactly a great day trip destination on its own, but it’s worth a stop for the views alone, even if you’ve never seen a single episode of The Walking Dead.
President Snow’s Mansion
From apocalypse to dystopia, Atlanta is also home to President Snow’s mansion, which served as his base in Catching Fire and Mockingjay Part 1. Behind the scenes, Snow’s mansion is actually The Swan House at the Atlanta History Center, one of Atlanta’s most famous homes, once belonging to the Inman Family.
Built in 1928 and opened to the public in 1967 as both a house museum and the Atlanta History Center’s headquarters, the property lets visitors admire original furnishings, including 18th-century antiques, before heading outside to reenact their own Hunger Games scenes.
Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park spans more than 200 acres of greenery, Botanical Gardens, and open space. Over six million visitors come here each year, and the park’s film credentials are a big part of the draw. Its most iconic appearance is probably in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, though it also shows up in Spider-Man, Instant Family, Holidate, and Anchorman 2.
Walk through it long enough and you’ll see Hollywood everywhere you turn. A solid last stop on any Atlanta film location tour.
