We couldn’t start this list without mentioning the iconic ‘Walking Dead Bridge’, which is otherwise known as the Jackson Street Bridge. Famed for its appearance in the first scene of the first episode of The Walking Dead when Rick rides into the city on horseback, Jackson Street Bridge is a swing bridge that provides some of the most striking Downtown views in Atlanta.

Visitors now head here in their droves, keen to take selfies, engagement photos, and more, and there’s free parking available on the bridge or nearby side streets if you wish to do the same. Admittedly, this roadside spot doesn’t exactly make for a great day trip in itself, but you probably will want to head here for a snap at some point during your stay. The views are worth it, even if you aren’t much of a Walking Dead fan.

President Snow’s Mansion

From apocalypse to dystopia, Atlanta is also home to President Snow’s iconic mansion, which served as his base in ‘Catching Fire’ and ‘Mockingjay Part 1’. Behind the scenes, Snow’s mansion is actually The Swan House at the Atlanta History Center, one of Atlanta’s most famous homes that once belonged to the Inman Family.

The property was originally built in 1928, and opened to the public in 1967 as both a house museum and the headquarters for the Atlanta History Center.  Now, visitors can admire the house’s original furnishings, including 18th-century antiques, before heading outside to reenact their very own Hunger Games scenes.

Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is a top Atlanta location and spans more than 200 acres of greenery, Botanical Gardens, and more. Over six million visitors head here yearly, and a large part of the reason for that is the park’s prominent appearance in several top films, including most iconically ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’.

Other films that might make this park recognizable include Spider-Man, Instant Family, Holidate, and Anchorman 2. In short, it’ll be hard not to see Hollywood scenes everywhere you turn, making this a great place to head at the end of your Atlanta film tour.

Visiting these top locations can be a fun way to spend your time in Atlanta, and as you tour the sights, you’re sure to see the best of what this iconic city has to offer far beyond what you’ve already seen on screen.
