Protect Yourself from the Sun

One of the best ways for you to care for your skin would be for you to protect your skin from the sun. Sun exposure can cause you wrinkles as well as age spots. You may also find that you end up experiencing a higher risk of skin cancer. If you want to give your skin extra protection, then use sunscreen if you can. You should also put on more sunscreen every couple of hours or so if you swim, or if you happen to sweat quite a lot. You should also make sure that you seek out shade where you can, too. Stay out of the sun between 10 am and 4 pm, as this is where the sun’s rays are the strongest. You should also make sure that you wear protective clothing if you can. If you notice that you are getting sunburned, then take extra measures to get out of the sun where possible.

Treat your Skin

Daily cleansing and shaving can be very rough on your skin. If you can, you need to limit the number of baths you take, and you also need to make sure that you use warm water rather than hot. Don’t use strong soap either. Detergents can strip oils from your skin, so be sure to use mild cleaners instead. This, combined with shaving carefully, will help you to keep your skin nice and moist, too. If you use a clean or sharp razor, then shave in the direction of the hair, as this will help you a lot. If you know that you have other skin issues like eczema, then you should probably try and treat these too. If you notice something on your skin that doesn’t look normal, then it may be that you have shingles. If this is the case, then it may be worth looking into trying to treat that. Getting vaccinated is also important, especially against Herpes zoster

Manage Stress

Too much stress can make your skin more sensitive to things, and it can also trigger acne breakouts. It can also lead to several other skin conditions, which is the last thing you need. If you want to do something about this, then you need to take steps to boost your chances of getting healthy skin, like trying to relax and be more mindful. This can be done if you simply take note of how you are feeling at various times of the day, and make sure that you don’t get too overwhelmed by things.

I write about the things I actually spend my time on: home projects that never go as planned, food worth traveling for, and figuring out which plants will survive my Northern California garden. When I'm not writing, I'm probably on a paddle board (I race competitively), exploring a new city for the food scene, or reminding people that I've raced both camels and ostriches and won both. All true. MK Library is where I share what I've learned the hard way, from real costs and real mistakes to the occasional thing that actually worked on the first try. Full Bio.
