Pickled Red Onions Recipe

This is the simplest and healthiest recipe for pickled red onions. Perfect garnish for everything from ceviche to tacos.

Red Onion

Lime

Salt

Water

Ingredients

Radish
Carrot
Persimmon
Artichoke
Carrot

Start boiling several cups of water. Peel an onion and thinly slice with a mandolin slicer.

Slice the Onion

Juice 3-4 limes until you have 1/2 cup of juice.

Soak onion in boiling water for 10 seconds, and then drain.

Add lime juice to the sliced onions.

Add the Juice

Add 2 teaspoons of salt and mix thoroughly, careful not to smash the onion.

Place the entire mixture into an airtight container, making sure the onions are fully submerged in the lime juice. 

Marinate

Refrigerate for at least one hour before eating. Enjoy!
